Spring Is Teaching Me How to Keep Going

There’s something about Spring that always reaches me before I realise I need it.

The light lingers a little longer.

The air softens.

The trees begin again without asking permission.

And this year, I needed that reminder more than ever.

It has been a trying season of my life.

Not loud.

Not dramatic.

But heavy.

The kind of season where you are navigating factors you cannot fully control.

Where responsibility doesn’t pause just because you are tired.

Where you hold steady because others depend on you.

If I’m honest, I’ve spent many years in some version of survival mode.

High functioning. Capable. Reliable.

But often braced.

When you stay braced for long enough, it becomes normal.

You stop noticing how much tension you are carrying.

You forget what it feels like to exhale fully.

There have been moments recently where I’ve felt trapped by circumstances outside my control.

Moments where I’ve questioned how long I can keep stretching myself.

And yet.

Over the years, I’ve learned tools that now hold me when things feel unsteady.

I pause sooner.

I notice the tightness in my chest instead of pushing through it.

I rest without waiting for collapse.

I name what I’m feeling instead of overriding it.

I am far more attuned to my body than I was five years ago.

Ten years ago, I would have powered through.

Now, I soften.

That doesn’t mean everything is resolved.

It doesn’t mean I’ve mastered rest.

It doesn’t mean I don’t still slip into old patterns.

But I recover faster.

I listen sooner.

I regulate before I react.

That is growth too.

Spring feels symbolic in a way that is hard to explain.

Nothing forces the buds open. Nothing shames the tree for looking bare in winter.

Growth happens in its own timing.

And as we enter this new season, I feel something gentle returning in me.

Not urgency. Not dramatic reinvention.

Just hope.

Hope that even in circumstances I cannot control, I can control how I tend to myself within them.

Hope that softness is not weakness. Hope that steady progress is enough.

If you have been in survival mode for longer than you care to admit, I want you to know this:

Your body remembers safety, even if it has been braced for years. You are not broken for feeling tired. You are not failing because you need more support.

Let me ask you something softly:

Where have you been surviving instead of living?

And what small act of gentleness could you offer yourself this week?

You don’t have to transform this Spring.

You can simply begin to unbrace.

And sometimes, that is the bravest kind of forward movement there is.

If this resonates, this is the kind of space I hold.

Not a space for fixing.

Not a space for forcing change.

A space for women who are tired of holding everything together alone.

A space where you can unbrace slowly.

Where survival patterns are understood, not judged.

Where rest is allowed before burnout demands it.

If you are entering this Spring carrying more than most people realise, you are not alone here.

You are welcome to land softly.
